Baringa Football Club is shaping up to kick off its best year yet – with 22 teams expected to hit the field for the 2025 season.

Club president James Graham took the helm of the club in late 2024 and has built a 15-strong committee of dedicated parents and friends.

The committee has taken advantage of recent rains to perfect the field, working on the grass seven days a week as the season kick off approaches on 21 February.

They have big plans for improving the infrastructure and providing opportunities for a growing cohort of local soccer enthusiasts in 2025.

“We are well on our way to becoming the destination of choice for community football on the coast,” Mr Graham said.

“We have a really good core of dedicated people who want to see this club thrive and we want to keep adding to that.

“Most of us are locals who are able to call on our friends and mobilise the community as a bunch to get things done to further the club and give the players the best opportunities they can get.”

Mr Graham said families eligible for Queensland FairPlay Vouchers could play for as little as $15 for MiniRoos and $160 for Juniors, for the whole season.

“We urge parents to take advantage of any and every incentive available to keep their kids active and get them involved with our club,” Mr Graham said.

“This season has an earlier start than most and if you need some help registering we will have two open days in January, with some times for juniors to have a kick around.

The open days are scheduled for 18 January and 25 January from 2pm-5pm at 30 Baringa Drive, Baringa.
