Busy working parents in Nirimba will soon have more childcare options right on their doorstep, as a new Goodstart Early Learning centre takes shape walking distance from Nirimba Primary.

With daycare places across the 4551 rare as hen’s teeth, many working parents are forced to seek placements outside of the postcode to secure care for their children.

The state-of-the-art facility will offer a much-needed 132 places for children aged 0–5 years and create 23 new jobs within the community.

Stockland Development Director Josh Sondergeld said the new Goodstart Early Learning centre represented an important milestone in delivering essential services for Aura’s growing population.

“The Goodstart Early Learning centre is within walking distance of residents’ homes in Nirimba and reflects our vision to create connected, family-friendly neighbourhoods in the Aura community,” Mr Sondergeld said.

“Located just 500 metres from Nirimba State Primary School, this new centre will give families access to early learning right on their doorstep, allowing parents to enjoy the convenience of walking their children to care.

“The centre joins Aura’s growing portfolio of education options, which includes 20 proposed educational facilities spanning schools, childcare centres, and a proposed university and TAFE,” Mr Sondergeld added.

Goodstart Nirimba will feature eight spacious learning areas, nature-inspired indoor and outdoor play spaces, and an on-site chef preparing fresh meals daily.

The centre will also be eligible for Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and the Queensland Government’s ‘Free Kindy’ program, offering affordable and accessible options for local families.

Kerrin Thomas, Queensland State Manager for Goodstart Early Learning, said the new centre would deliver long-lasting benefits for Aura families by combining high-quality care with play-based learning approaches.

“Our educational programs are designed to encourage creativity and exploration, inspiring an early love of learning.

“This centre will provide a nurturing, home-like environment with highly qualified educators who tailor programs to each child’s interests and strengths, ensuring they’re ready for the transition to formal schooling.”
